What’s coming: A look at the rest of the year and what’s ahead.
Here are the current projects:
There’s a lot happening behind the scenes right now, and I’m excited to give you a glimpse into the projects I’m working on for the rest of this year and the beginning of next year. Here’s what’s on the horizon:
1. Magora continues — in German
I’m currently translating books 2, 3, and 4 of the Magora series into German. After the release of the new edition of The Gallery of Wonders next year, it will be time to bring the next chapters of this magical adventure to German-speaking readers. I’m thrilled to be working on these translations with the wonderful editor Nadja Losbohm, who’s helping me refine the texts and elevate the storytelling.
2. New covers for old publications
Alongside the new editions, I’m designing brand-new covers for the Magora books. They’ll stay true to the spirit of the originals but will have a more refined, magical look to match the updated versions.
3. A return to chocolate: The Chocolate Mountain
The follow-up to my award-winning book The Chocolate Clouds is well underway. The manuscript for The Chocolate Mountain was edited by Jennifer Rees, best known as the editor of The Hunger Games. Now it is time to start working on the illustrations.
4. Moving on to The Chocolate Dragon
Book three in the chocolate series, The Chocolate Dragon, is also edited and ready to go. I’ll be illustrating it once The Chocolate Mountain is complete.
5. German editions of the chocolate books
Both The Chocolate Mountain and The Chocolate Dragon will be translated into German as well. I’m looking forward to bringing these stories to a new audience with all their sweetness and adventure. Lots of translations ahead of me.
6. A new direction: a crime novel for adults
Something a little different is also in the works. I’ve started writing a crime story for adults, a project that’s been sitting on the back burner for a while. I hope to find the time to return to it and explore a completely new genre.
7. And maybe even more Magora
If time allows, I hope to continue translating the final two books in the Magora series into German, so the entire series will finally be available in both languages.
As you can see, there’s no shortage of work ahead but I’m excited for every part of it.
Thanks for following along on this journey. There’s a lot of magic (and mystery) coming your way!
