Sculpture of Carrotina

While illustrating my latest book THE CHOCOLATE CLOUDS I had a new idea. Since all characters in the book were only illustrated in black and white and only created on paper, I wanted to see one of them come alive in 3D. So I picked my favorite character Carottina and created a sculpture out of clay. First I created a wire frame, and then I added layers of clay. After it had dried, I was able to color her. Here are some pictures of the process:
